Bedgrove Infant School is one of a small number of Primary Schools across the country to have been awarded Associate Training School Status. Through this programme we maintain our strong links with the TDA through network meetings, events and conferences as well as developing school-based research projects. We at Bedgrove have a proactive approach to education and recognise that it is an 'organic' and evolving process. Because of this, we have a strong emphasis within the school for staff and whole school development and like to think that we are at the cutting edge of the chalkface.
Children learn in different ways, and we encourage a 'holistic' view of education, developing the whole child through visual, auditory and kinaesthetic models. As an Associate Training School, we have a reputation for high standards in both teaching and learning...and not just for our pupils. Learning, we believe, should be life long, and all our staff are encouraged to continually develop their skills and interests through in-house, external formal and informal training. As a large, over-subscribed Infant School we are an ideal training base. Our size enables us to develop quite adventurous schemes and ideas, particularly in the more creative areas of the curriculum, and with a highly skilled, professional and, most importantly, caring staff, our trainees are ideally placed to develop their full potential. |
