Bedgrove Infant School is an attractive, four form entry school. We have three 'blocks' of classrooms serving our Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2, with a central building housing our hall/gym, staffroom, administration centre, meeting room and creche. The school library, which was recently fully refurbished and restocked, is in a separate builiding. It is a welcoming and stimulating environment, housing not only an extensive range of both fiction and non-fiction books, but story sacks, tapes, cds and two internet-linked computers as well. Foundation Stage enjoys a stimulating, exciting outdoor classroom. This classroom includes a sensory garden, physical, creative, role-play, literacy and numeracy areas, as well as a large sandpit and reading/writing hut. Our outdoor classroom won the EYE Outdoor Setting of the Year Award in 2003, of which we are extremely proud! The two playgrounds are innovative learning environments. You can find rock walls, sandpits, writing huts and drama zones. The school also has two computer suites each housing 15 PCs. All our pupils have regular ICT sessions. This facility, together with classroom computers plus Interactive Whiteboards in all our Year 1 and 2 classrooms, give our children access to the best of cutting edge technology. All our computers and whiteboards in KS1 have internet facilities. |
