So you want to become a teacher? There are many routes into teaching -from Initial Teacher Training (ITT) to gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The teaching 'bug' bites at many stages of life - not always when we can afford (financially or otherwise) to go off to University full time for three or four years. Many aspiring teachers might already have a degree, others have few qualifications except their enthusiasm.
